Social Media For Business Results
Q: “Does every New Zealand business need a website?”
Yes, I believe so.
Even if it’s just a single page, every business needs a website.
Q: “Could my small NZ business benefit from Social Media?”
You might think that your businesses is too boring for social media, but you are wrong.
Believe it or not, there are people out there that care enough about what you do to take the time to connect with you via social media platforms.
We just have to find them.
Since April 2009 I have been researching and experimenting with Social Media and only very recently have I become confident that I know enough to be able to help you.
As far as I’m concerned “social media” comes down to just 3 technologies:
- Blogging
Get all 3 working together for you and you have a winning triangle of goodness.
(I’m tempted to add LinkedIn to this list as #4, but it hasn’t done much for me so I can’t recommend it to you right now.)
Q: “What resources do we need to throw at Social Media?”
Time.
And lots’ of it.
Most of the technology is free, but you can sink hours/days/weeks into social media and get nothing in return.
That’s no good.
You and I demand a Return on Investment, right?
I have invested hundreds of hours into experimenting with social media so you don’t have to.
I know what works, and what doesn’t (and I’m always learning).
What do you need?
- Do you need someone who can provide you with advice, strategy, techniques, know-how, shortcuts, tips and tricks on how to use various social media platforms to generate results for your business?
- Do you need help with the initial set up of each social media platform?
- Do you need training so you can control it all yourself so you don’t need to pay anyone to do it for you?
If so, you are in the right place.
#1. Facebook Business Page Set-up $490+gst
I can help you to set up a Facebook business page (or do it yourself by following my guide on Business Facebook pages).
The awesome thing about Facebook Business Pages is that it is very easy for potential customers to give you permission to communicate with them via their Facebook Wall.
And, as you know, permission is essential (and rare) in today’s world of information overload and mass media advertising that attempts to shout louder and interrupt in a feeble attempt to gain attention.
What you get:
- Vanity url (eg Facebook.com/LoveOneDaySales.co.nz instead of Facebook.com/pages/MarketingFirstconz/119712511410695
- Convert your logo to a Facebook friendly version
- Selection and configuration of appropriate tabs
- Connections to your website, blog and Twitter account (if you have them)
- Training. I share my strategy with you for generating business using Facebook including lots of ideas for content that will engage your audience
Examples:
- Facebook.com/LoveOneDaySales.co.nz
- Facebook.com/NZHotPools.co.nz
- Facebook.com/SmallBusinessMarketingNZ
- Facebook.com/Totali.co.nz
#2. Twitter For Business Set-up $490+gst
I can help you to set up a Twitter account for your business (or do it yourself by signing up at Twitter.com).
The awesome thing about Twitter is that you can send a 140 character message directly to a target customer. And the message will get read. They might not reply, they might not take action, but the important thing is that you get the chance.
No time in history has this been possible before.
This is truly the essence of “direct marketing”. And you don’t have to find their postal address, write a letter, put it in an envelope, attach a 60c stamp and take it to the post office. You type, and in 20 seconds, you’re done.
What you get:
- Help to install and configure your Twitter software (my favourite is Tweetdeck)
- Design and installation of a cool Twitter background (with your branding of course)
- Training. I’ll share my strategy with you about how to get Followers
- Basically the idea is to follow people who you want to follow you and engaging them in conversation
- You find such people via:
- keyword searches
- by keyword in their profile
- by physical location/geography
- by followers of other twitter accounts in your industry
- by follows of those accounts
- twitter lists (listorious.com is quite useful but a bit weak for NZ)
- I’ve found TweetAdder very effective for building up followers
- I don’t trust any tweet that says “get thousands of followers in 5 minutes!” stay away from claims like that
- Twitter is cracking down on software that uses it’s API, so recently TweetAdder started using “via web” for it’s tweets instead of “via API” (which always looked a bit spammy)
- I’ll train you how to use TweetAdder
Examples:
- Twitter.com/SheldonNesdale
- Twitter.com/LoveOneDaySales
- Twitter.com/NZHotPools
- Twitter.com/Marketing_First
Q: “Sheldon, do you know what you are talking about?”
- The most successful Facebook Business Page I’ve created is: http://www.facebook.com/LoveOneDaySales.co.nz
- I have 3 successful Twitter accounts: twitter.com/SheldonNesdale, twitter.com/LoveOneDaySales and Twitter.com/NZHotPools
